G-String Tenor Full Custom Cutaway

Hello,

Here is a G-String Tenor Full Custom with a cutaway. This instrument has an extremely curly Hawaiian Koa body, with a mahogany neck, rosewood fretboard and bridge, abalone rosette and logo, full tortoise binding, and grover tuners. The cutaway full custom tenor is a bit rare, and reminiscent of the James Hill or Kelly Boy DeLima pro models. Great tone and playability, this is the top of the G-String family of instruments.

SI Super Concert

Here is a SI Super Concert from local luthier Mr. Ishikawa of Honolulu. The body of this ukulele is all solid curly koa construction. It has a mahogany neck and rosewood fretboard. There is a rosette of abalone, and gotoh tuners. This ukulele has a very solid feel and sound. Out of the SI family of ukuleles, I believe that I prefer this model. It sounds great, and looks great too.

KoAloha Soprano First Year Model

Here is a very special first year model soprano from KoAloha. This ukulele features many points that the newest KoAloha ukuleles no longer do. There is no unibrace in this instrument. Bracing is a much more traditional style. The soundhole is round, not musubi shaped. The headstock is three point, instead of five. The neck is all koa, and the heel of the neck is more flared. The top, back, and side are all one piece construction. The tuners have no logos. etc.. As you can see, KoAloha have evolved quite a bit over the last 14 years!

This is a Ko'olau Tenor CS model ukulele. This is a new model for Ko'olau introduced this year at the NAMM show. It features a spruce top with abalone rosette, very curly Hawaiian Koa back and sides, with an ebony bridge, fingerboard, and faceplate, M.O.P. logo, and Gotoh tuners. This contemporary series has a new radiused fingerboard, and redesigned neck/headstock. Ko'olau consistently produces some of the finest instruments to come out of Hawaii including ukuleles, acoustic guitars, and lapsteel guitars. Mahalo.

Moore Bettah Soprano

This is a Moore Bettah Soprano ukulele. Mr. Moore's rope binding is very nice, and it covers the instrument, including the headstock. Hand cut inlay for the faceplate decal. This is Moore Beetah's basic model, but it is of the finest quality. The sound is excellent as well. Very full and rich for a soprano. Great intonation and playability. This is one of the nicest sopranos that I have played in quite some time. Please come down and try one at Puapua. Mahalo.

Moore Bettah Custom Tenor

Here is an exquisite example from the Big Island. Moore Bettah Ukuleles are some of the finest instruments made in the islands. This tenor is full curly koa with ebony fretboard, bridge, binding, and faceplate. The two soundhole design is reminiscent of slack key style Hawaiian guitars. The headstock is inlaid with a variety of prescious stone and shell, including abalone, paua, tahitian black pearl, and M.O.P.. Rosette and purfling are done in abalone. This ukulele also plays like a dream. Very rich and full tones due to the double hole design. Mr. Moore is one of but a handful of luthiers in Hawaii deserving of the title of master builder. Mahalo.
