Here is a G-String very early model from Derek Shimizu. This ukulele is from the time when Derek made all G-Strings himself. The body is all Hawaiian Koa. Mahogany neck. Koa bridge, and Rosewood fingerboard with abalone position markers. Grover friction tuners. Koa and Spruce logo inlay. This ukulele has a thicker neck than most G-Strings nowadays. There is something very full about the tone as well. As most G-String ukulele are played regularly by thier owners, you don't usually see such an old one in this condition. Very nice. Thanks again to Yu Ishizaki for letting me shoot the instrument. If any of you will be in the Waikiki area and have a ukulele that you would like to share, please let me know! Mahalo
