Here is a custom Kamaka Custom from Yu Ishizaki. Yu San ordered this instrument for himself in 2001, and it was one of the first of the new generation Kamakas. This ukulele is completely curly Hawaiian Koa. The neck is also solid curly Koa. The bridge and fingerboard are ebony. The tuners are side gear Schaller. This ukulele is one of the best sounding and playing Kamaka concert that I have come across. In fact, I liked this instrument so much that I used it for much of the recording of Hawaiian Style Ukulele Vols. 1 and 2. Yu San is a professional sound engineer, so as you can imagine he is very particular about his instruments. I hope that you enjoyed this look at a rare custom Kamaka. Mahalo.
